The World Economic Forum has identified women as the fastest-growing economic force in the world today.

In October 2014 over 400 leaders and small business owners gathered at the BC Economic Forum, a sold-out event in Vancouver, to provide ideas and input on how to grow women leaders – in business, on boards and in growing industries.

The forum was co-hosted by the WEB Alliance (a collective of more than 25 women’s business networks in BC), The Vancouver Board of Trade Women’s Leadership Circle (WLC) and the Premier’s Women’s Economic Council (PWEC).

The unique working session included an in-depth discussion to identify barriers and potential solutions to increase the impact of women in the BC economy. But they didn’t stop with what limits women – they also reported the successes, victories and conditions instrumental in supporting women.

An action plan to implement the recommendations that were identified at the BC Economic Forum was released on May 6 and will be distributed at the Catalyst for Growth events.
